This 90 minute workshop explores what good posture really is and offers alternative ways to improve posture effectively and instantly with the help of NLP and Somatic, myofascial movement.
Many of us are permanently on a quest for better posture. We keep finding our shoulders hunched forward when ever we are not thinking about keeping them down. And we struggle to even know sometimes how we should stand in order to improve our posture. We think we are slouching, causing ourselves back pain and then sometimes we "overdo" posture and end up with flaring ribs, hurting our back yet again. It is hard to find the exact right position for all of our body parts and then we start moving and our carefully assembled stance disintegrates once again.
Some of us use exercise in an attempt to strengthen and stretch muscles to tone ourselves into balanced posture but how much exercise do we have to do to counter 24 hours of bad posture every day?
This workshop uses ideas from Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) and Somatic, myofascial Movement to give you instant, powerful access to balanced, moving posture. We all know that our posture is worse when we feel sad, tired, depressed, stressed or nervous. We know it is better when we are happy, relaxed and confident. With the help of simple NLP techniques we can access the mental state that improves our posture and witness it change. Experimental somatic movement exercises allow you to explore different ways of moving that support the balance within your body and lets you find springiness, buoyancy and effortless posture.
This workshop is open to anyone who seeks powerful tools to improve their own posture as well as to movement professionals who teach others.
